Here’s a few images from our trip that i’d like to share with [...]]]> For those that know me personally, probably already know that New York is a place i absolutely love.  This year the trip was made just that little bit more special; i proposed to my girlfriend in the big city on Valentine’s Day!!

Here’s a few images from our trip that i’d like to share with you all…

A view from New Jersey looking back over towards Manhattan.  To get this shot we had to take a ferry from the Midtown West ferry terminal to Port Imperial.  It was probably the most expensive trip we paid for to be honest.  It cost us $39 for a round trip for a ferry ride that took no longer than 8 minutes!  I suppose I have to say that it was well worth it when you’re presented with views like this.

Looking back towards the financial district from the Brooklyn Bridge.  This image was taken from the first arch on the bridge.  In the distance you can see the World Trade centre breaking through and lighting up the entire skyline.  It’s certainly something i’ve always wanted to see for myself.

Here it is.  The south pool at the 9/11 Memorial in its pure beauty and enormous scale.  That particular day we stayed in the memorial for around 3 hours to grab this shot.  The names of each and every victim who lost their life on September 11 2001 are engraved into the solid bronze plaques.  It really is an awesome sight at night.

A view from the Empire State Building looking south.  From here you can see that the World Trade Centre has already broken through the other skyscrapers and catching up on the Empire State Building.

Two more tridents we literally stumbled upon on the Hudson Riverfront, New Jersey side.

Looking downtown through Chinatown.

This guy was absolutely nuts.  We were sat eating our lunch on the benches to the top right of this image, when square milk cartons started flying through the air.  When we looked down the street, this guy was pinging milk cartons with the objective of trying to get them into the bin.  Not something you see everyday i suppose.

Not quite sure where this trolley of flowers were destined, but it looked pretty awesome.

We were lucky enough to see the filming of an episode of Blue Bloods.  The actress, Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin, had to keep switching out into a pair of Ugg boots after every take.

Oh yeah, she said yes!!

It’s actually quite chilled out heading out into the middle of nowhere in the pitch black.  The pressure is off, and if you don’t get [...]]]> After watching the Stargazing Live and having tickets to actually go to the live event at the Gibside, I thought I would see what I can capture with my camera.

It’s actually quite chilled out heading out into the middle of nowhere in the pitch black.  The pressure is off, and if you don’t get the shot you want you don’t feel so bad about getting back into your car and blasting the heaters on the way back home.

So here starts Project 1.

Starting with The Angel of The North.  I’ve been a few times during the day to do the same old sunset, sunrise shots you see every Uncle Bob take, but this time it was going to be different.  On my first adventure it was -2 degrees at 11pm!  There wasn’t a single person to be seen as I sat there getting this shot.

Having come home and processed the image I knew I should head back sometime soon.  Here’s a couple from yesterday.
